PACAH 2021 Summer Webinar Series

​Join PACAH for a series of webinars designed to provide timely information and help navigate the new landscape of long-term care.

These webinars are free to all PACAH members. If you are unsure of your membership status, please contact Kim Deline.

You will register for each Zoom webinar individually. Once you register, you will receive a confirmation email with instructions on how to join the webinar.

Each individual webinar has been submitted for approval from the National Continuing Education Service (NCERS) of the National Association of Long Term Care Administrator Boards (NAB) for one (1) total each credit hour.

Each individual webinar offers one (1) available credit hour fulfilling the requirements of the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.

Certificates of attendance will be distributed via email by September 10, 2021. NAB/Ncers CEUs will be uploaded to the registry per their guidelines.​

Does the Sizzle of Advertising Still Work? When, Why, What and How Often?
This session is a 60-minute webinar on the basic concepts of advertising. It is designed for administrators, executive directors, and marketing decision makers. The attendees will explore the different mediums, their value and the changes that have been occurring since the inception of social media. Is it still a viable medium? Did social media replace the need for print? Why do you advertise and where? How do you choose the right medium and what is the purpose? We will cover what to do with negative coverage and how to avoid getting caught in bad press. We will discuss content, call to action, and tracking.

CMS Updates Impacting Nursing Homes During COVID Pandemic: What You Need to Know
Since the advent of the COVID-19 Pandemic, nursing homes have been subject to constant changes in federal guidance and the imposition of significant fines imposed by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) relation to infection control deficiencies. The oversight and scrutiny of nursing homes is at an all-time high and it is imperative that nursing homes stay abreast of the changes in the federal guidance issues by CMS to ensure compliance. This session will address the changes/updates in federal guidance issues by CMS in response to the COVID pandemic and the impact of such changes on nursing facilities from a survey and enforcement perspective. This session will also address strategies and best practices for nursing facilities to consider to avoid the imposition of sanctions/remedies as well as how to respond to an adverse survey.

QAPI and Infection Prevention: Innovative Projects for Implementation and Measurement
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) have a Requirement of Participation (RoP) for long-term care facilities (LTCF) to develop, implement, and maintain an effective comprehensive data-driven Quality Assurance Process Improvement (QAPI) program that focuses on care systems, outcomes, and quality of life. Infection preventionists are key to the success of a facility's QAPI program. This session will provide infection preventionists and LTCF leadership with a succinct history and intent of QAPI and how you can utilize your transformational leadership skills to develop and implement infection prevention strategies to improve outcomes. Learn how you can engage, innovate, and transform your LTCF team and QAPI program.

  • Discuss the importance of goal setting in infection prevention
  • List three potential process improvement projects (PIP) related to infection prevention
